Repurposing Waste

In the fashion industry, scraps left over from production are often tossed out, contributing to millions of tons of fabric waste every year. Much of this waste is synthetic and non-biodegradable, meaning it can sit in landfills for hundreds of years, leaching harmful chemicals into the environment. Reducing and upcycling pre-consumer waste (like production scraps) is one of the most effective ways to combat this crisis.

What we are working towards a zero-waste model by finding creative, thoughtful ways to repurpose every last piece of fabric. For us, waste isn’t the end—it’s a beginning.

We carefully collect and sort all leftover fabric from our production process. Larger pieces are patched together into beautiful, one-of-a-kind products, like purses and jackets. And if you thought, our smaller scrap materials aren’t utilized, think again. They also find a new purpose.

Handwoven purses are one of the products that is a successful result in our attempt to repurpose waste.

These beautiful, one-of-a-kind purses are crafted by survivors of Hansen’s disease—women who have faced social exclusion and stigma. By providing dignified, skill-based employment, we not only reduce waste but also help restore opportunity and self-worth. The women themselves choose the colors and patterns, ensuring every purse is truly personal and unique.

Our Marpha Jacket is a stunning example of patchworked products made from larger leftover pieces. Each geometric panel on the jacket is hand-assembled to create a striking mosaic of color and form. Smaller scraps too fine for garments find new life in gems such as our Maaya Necklace, where each wooden bead is delicately wrapped in fabric, turning the tiniest offcuts into fluid, poetic adornments.
